This is not me in the photo, but maybe someday it will be if i get a brother. These two frenchies look really peaceful and balanced like a yin yang symbol. I love how they are stuffed into that small bed... it looks really cozy.

F is for Frenchie not effigy
The man in the brown uniform knows mommie by her first name. He drives a big, brown truck and brings boxes to the front porch. he is a very nice man. Lately, some of these boxes have been filled with french bulldog figurines. Mommie loves her bric a brac but i wish she would spend more time with me than on Ebay looking for statues of me. Nothing beats the real thing, baby.
gentlemen prefer blonds

Could it be true? Daddie has been talking about a blond frenchie. As if i am not enough to handle for both him and mommie. I am not so sure how i feel about having full-time competition. He keeps talking about some blond that ran in the back door of where he was working. I don't like the tone of his voice. Yeah, I admit the blond one is cute, but i am not ready to share the limelight with anyone.

end of an era

Well, well, well. What do we have here? I sensed it last week when mommie and daddy were looking at photos on their iphone. I thought the worst was upon me.. a baby.. but soon enough i found out it was worse than my worst fears...For years, i have been the center of attention, the ruler of my domain, the star of the stage. But no longer, my competition has arrived.
Rumor has it, my girlfriend aka aunt Jen, is getting an english bulldog... a dog of her own. Perhaps she feels she can replace me but obviously not since she opted for my meatier cousin the english bulldog. I wonder if this is going to change our relationship. I will have to accept the new reality when cecil comes home. No more Camp David visits, no more pole position under the dinner table, no more kicking David out of bed, no more posed photos.
I will admit he is ridiculously cute with that 2 tone face. I can't wait to show him the ropes. He has a lot to learn and who better to learn from the master, yours truly. I will have to break him in with the art of manipulation, whining, and cuteness. Soon enough, he will be mastering the art of being a dog-tyrant.
welcome home cecil!!!!

matteo bedding

Triple washed luxurious sheets, heirloom Italian cotton quilts, washed antique linen pillow cases.... Did someone say 'naptime'? Mommie's latest obsession has been making the bed all nice with tons of pillows and mixed textures. Here i am enjoying a nap moments after she made the bed, sleepy eyes and all. The bed is worthy of a showroom, especially with me in the photo. Life's rough.

tenoversix: raccoon or frenchie?

what a bandit. i tend to only post pictures of myself but this frenchie is worth showcasing. mommie likes to shop and appreciates design. this frenchie came with the tenoversix newsletter, one of her favorite shops in LA. i wonder if they sell ties. it seems to be the dog fashion trend of the year. see below with me in my bowtie.

cold shoulder
I stared off longingly towards the front gate in hopes of mommie and daddie returning from their vacation in Paris. Here I am looking so chic and androgynous in my leopard foulard. They left me behind as always and i am miffed. Being at Camp David with uncle david and aunt jen is a real treat though. They pamper me to the bitter end. In this case, the bitter end is when mommie and daddie come to end my days in paradise.
i have to remember to give mommie and daddie the cold shoulder when they come to get me. Turning my head away from them and not making eye contact is one tactic of mine. The other is to just completely look away from them every time they call for me and act as if no one has said my name. They need to know who is boss.

conspicuous consumption
mommie told me there was nothing but french bulldogs and design motifs all around paris. T-shirts at le comptoir des cotoniers, cafes decorated after them, boxes of truffles at La Duree, antique paperweights from the streamline era, etc, etc. We were everywhere.
Here's some samples of things that have been emailed to me in the states. A good place to find things with me on them is on etsy or on ebay.
le bouldogue cafe a paris
bonjour mes amis!! Here is an adorable little cafe in Paris in the 3eme that has the best theme and branding i have ever seen. It is right near the Pompidou center on Rue Des Francs Bourgeois.
